United Airlines has made history by launching daily direct flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) on March 25, 2023. This marks the first time an American carrier has offered direct flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since 2016 when United ceased operations due to overcapacity from Emirates.

United’s partnership with Emirates allows customers to access more than 100 destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East via Dubai. In return, Emirates’ customers will have convenient access to over 200 cities in the United States through United’s network. This partnership provides travelers with increased flexibility and convenience when planning their journeys.

The 13.5-hour direct flight is operated on United’s B777, departing Newark at 22:15 local time and arriving in Dubai at 19:40 local time the following day. The return flight, UA 163, departs Dubai at 02:15 local time and arrives in Newark at 09:05 local time.
